Book card

I really love this book card design! It's quite an easy make and looks really effective. Ideal for avid book readers too!

Not a bad idea for mothers day either!

Leprechaun

Here's a little fellah I made for St Patrick's day in the style of gnomes that were popular at Christmas.

I think he's quite cute!

Prick n stitch

I really enjoy stitching occasionally so making these two was great fun!

I felt that an 8 sided shaped card was the best way to show off this design.

I seem to have had this pattern on my to do list for ages and was determined to finally make it this year. After the first card, it was nice to make something more straight forward.

Valentine

I wanted to use a heart print I've had for ages so I made this card.

I cut out several layers of the design leaving the butterflies in place. Then I coloured the butterflies and stuck each layer together on 3d pads. It seemed a shame not to use it so it became a valentines card!

Spirelli

Going "back to basics" a bit this week with a bit of spirelli. Doing that was fine it was just designing the rest of the cards that took the time! Think they turned out OK though.

I wanted them to have a monochrome effect and that was the reason for the single colour in each case.

Snake forthe e woods

Now and again it's good to dabble in a craft that's not card making and to that end I recently finished this crochet snake!

It took me 2 days altogether but I really enjoyed the change. I think he looks like a pretzel!

2023 Bendi pop up card

Here is my first card of the year. Its a bendi pop up card!

I used a Woodware stamp which I put onto cream card then cut all of the pieces out leaving a small edge all around. I stamped each piece onto coloured papers and pieced the original design. I love this effect and it allows you to use up some of your scraps.

I shaped the main card (1) and cut out 2 strips for the front sections (2 & 3)

Piece 1 is 14.8cm square

Piece 2 ( where the bird sits ) is 7cm x 15cm scored at each short end  at 1.5 cm.

Piece 3 ( bottom strip) 4.5cm x 18cm scored at each short end at 1.5cm.

There are one or two full tutorials on the net using different sized cards.

I really like this design and will definately make more of them in future!
