Royal Wedding hat

My granddaughter recently attended a special event, (run by the local Brownies and Guides) to celebrate the Royal Wedding. The girls were all asked to make a hat for the party, and this is our entry. As you can imagine, my daughter and I helped too!

Considering the base was made from a cornflake box, then covered with crepe paper before it was decorated, we don't feel we did too bad!

The flowers were cut out using an old sizzix machine and layered in red, white and blue. The dove on the front was made in a simular way.

On the side of the hat were bells and champagne glasses. On the back, we put a red white and blue bow, a gown and tuxedo and a "Just Married " sign.

The brim was made from a piece of white card. We decorated it with punched red hearts and added the date. The photograph is a sticker, the flagpoles are skewers and the flags are taken from a magazine. Not bad eh?

May this very special couple have a long and happy married life together, and good luck to them!

Happy crafting,

Love Pat x
